Usually, an idler arm is connected between the pitman arm and the other side of the center link of the frame to keep the center link at a proper height so that the movement of the pitman arm can be accurately transmitted. The idler arm is usually more prone to wear than the steering rocker arm because the idler arm has a built-in pivot function.
